All Black Models In Philipp Plein Spring 2014 Show

German designer Philipp Plein made a bold statement with his runway show by casting all black models. This came at a perfect time as the fashion industry has called a public end to runway racism. Plein confirmed that the use of all black models was all in line with the message of his brand. 
“My message is about breaking down barriers and breaking the rules. Doing the unexpected and shaking people from their complacence, forcing people to face the future where old prejudices have no place.”

We definitely hope to see more designers stepping out and using more black models in the future. Afterall they are the trendsetters – we just hope this is not just another trend, but a major change in the industry.

With that said, Plein’s collection touched on the rising athletic trend that we’ve been seeing allover the runways. No piece was left without a little glitter, shine, metallic or sparkle. See the full collection below.
