Leather Love

DSC_6670

DSC_6663

This is such a relaxed look for me, perfect for the weekend. This is a look I would wear to an outdoor festival, concert or BBQ. Even though this look is head-to-toe neutral, I mixed it up with using different fabrics. In this look Im wearing a satin blazer, jersey knit t-shirt, leather shorts and wedge sneakers. What I love about jersey knit tees is that you can easily knot it to give your basic tee some excitement. A little secret, these leather shorts are actually leather trousers I cut into shorts. I didnt have leather shorts so I thought why not, its summer, you can never have enough shorts. The blazer was something I added last minute to this look, to kind of dress it up a bit. On the flip side, I then dressed it back down by tying it around my waist. Topped off the look with wedge sneakers; leather shorts and wedge sneakers just go well together. I love the versatility of this look.

Lady In Red

DSC_6616

It’s said that every woman should have a little black dress in her closet. I also think that every woman should have a little red dress on hand in her closet for that special date night or work function. They ‘re also perfect for holiday party season – I recall wearing a red dress last holiday season to every party I went to. Red is sexy, seductive, feminine and it pops – plus every woman looks great in it! This is personally one of my favorite dress styles, a fitted jersey dress. It’s tight enough to show you’re woman, but the fabric is loose enough to show you’re lady. This dress was purchased from one of my favorites H&M and I especially love the rouching on the dress. I think it was such a smart idea because as you know, after sitting for long periods your dress will crease. In this case, the rouching already gives that creasing effect and you won’t have to worry about a crushed dressed. The sandals are from Aldo which I purchased on sale last summer, also seen on Kelly Osbourne. Too bad the sandals are no longer in stock, but you can purchase a similar style here.

7 Boot Style Every Woman Should Own

 unnamed

So Fall is just around the corner – womp, I know! Like it or not, it’s just about that time to start thinking about layering and bundling up. I’m personally not a fan of the colder weather – I’m a summer girl at heart. So with summer almost coming to an end, it can be a bit depressing for me. But that’s another story- or blogpost. I’m still trying to master the skill of layering – a littler secret, I really don’t layer that much when the temperature drops. I just throw on my coat and go! My thinking is as long as my legs, ears and hands are covered and my coat is on I’ll be okay. I mean, I never dress planning on staying out in the cold for long anyways. For me boots are one of my favourite pieces to wear in Fall/Winter to show off my style. The styles are endless and you can easily work them in your hectic schedule from day to night. To help you out in the boot department, I’ve done my research and found seven boot styles every woman should own. Okay maybe not all seven, but you get what I’m saying.

ANKLE BOOTS

These boots are perfect for casual weekend wear. Wear them with some jeggings paired with a biker jacket in the Fall/Winter or for a more festival look pair them with a dress in the summer.

CHELSEA BOOTS

This style may just be the most classic of them all. If you have no idea on what kind of boots to buy, your safe bet is to go with a Chelsea. It suits everyone!

RIDING BOOTS

Girly Girl

photo

As of late I’ve been loving the idea of pairing girly and boyish pieces together.

In this look I’m wearing a blush pink top with a peplum detail and statement necklace on top. I then balanced the look with some baggy shorts rolled up at the hem. I finished the look with some casual strappy nude heels; I kept the colours neutral with only a pop of colour.

Fashion Girls Have A Hard Time Dressing For Dates

photo

I cannot be the only ‘fashion’ girl out there who finds it a bit challenging trying to figure out what to wear on a first date. As someone who is really into fashion and have a sense of what my style is, it’s not so easy putting together an outfit that stays true to my fashion sense and yet wanting to attract a potential suitor. On one hand you want to wear something trendy and completely unattractive that would probably repel the opposite sex i.e. harem pants with a boyfriend tee and booties. On the other hand you do want to look feminine and sexy, without revealing too much, but just enough to attract him right! Remember, the idea of a first date is to make a great first impression and with that, your clothes are a sure bet in doing so. Typically when you think of first date outfits you think of  something that hugs your curves and probably shows off a bit of cleavage and legs. Us fashion girls on the hand, we want to flaunt our fashion sense, not necessarily our bodies.

If you’re a girl whose into fashion, you can definitely relate to the fact that we tend to be a bit rebellious at times when it comes to dressing and go against the norm. We want to wear those wide leg shorts that would make our hips look bigger; we want to wear those boxy tops that gives us absolutely no shape; we want to wear those oversized button-ups that makes us look like we just raided our boyfriend’s closet. And that’s okay! Maybe it’s me, but I find that the direction in which women dress today is taking a route where it’s okay to dress a bit ‘ugly’ sometimes. When I say ugly, I mean wearing clothing that may not be so flattering to your body or pieces that will not attract the opposite sex. It’s an empowering movement happening – to say ‘less dressing for men and more dressing for ourselves’. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t frown upon dressing to appeal to the opposite sex – I mean that is apart of the whole allure in finding your potential mate right!

Hopefully I’m not the only girl out there who has this problem, so I want to hear from you, leave your comments below. In the meantime, I’ve rounded up some super cute and flirty date friendly looks that will both show off your personal style and still show that you care about what he thinks.

This is a great simple and classy black and white look for the girly girls. The peplum detail adds a touch of femininity to a mini hemline and the barely there heels elongate your legs. Legs are a classy way to show some skin and this look nails it.

skinny-jeans-stilettos

This is a great look if you want to keep things casual, yet still looking polished. A blazer and jeans combo does just that, unapologetically.

accento-jewelry-zara-shorts~look-main-single

Being a huge fan of the dress shorts, I can confidently say that they’re a great alternative to a dress. If you’re going for that dressed up look, without the committing to a dress, this is a great option.

This stripes and colour combo is a great way to show off your playful personality. This look let’s him know that you do know how to put yourself together and that you have fun with fashion.

This is a great way to go for that ‘sexy’ look yet keeping it classy at the same time. Black is definitely safe and adding a  pop of colour with your heels is super cute.
