Outfit Ideas: What To Wear For NYE

Happy NYE everyone!

Can you believe that 2015 is coming to end already! I mean come on, it feels like we just rang in 2015, no? I know we say this every year, but this year just felt like it went by extra fast. As you reflect on the past year, gear up for the new one and set your goals and resolutions, you always have that one question lingering in your mind: What should I wear? With just a day away from the biggest celebration world wide I thought I’d give you a hand. So don’t fret, here are three fab looks for you to steal to ring in the New Year in style.

Luxe in Tuxe

I love a good blazer dress and paired with some thigh high boots, yum! This is a great alternative to the typical super tight LBD. It’s “tight enough to show that you’re a woman and loose enough to show that you’re lady.” Baby it’s cold outside, so not only are you keeping your pedi in tact, but those legs will be nicely warmed. Keeping it business on top and a little sassy on the bottom, you’re guaranteed to have heads turning all night. Leave your out and sleek the front back with some gel with a red lip to finish the look.

Blush Crush

Blush is a subtle way to add colour without the pop. I personally consider blush a neutral and it’s a great way to incorporate colour into an already neutral wardrobe. It’s also a great alternative to wearing something red because it’s unexpected. Super popular right now, a high neck top is chic, sexy and classy. I paired it with a feathered skirt and leopard print pumps, and topped it off with a blush coat and silver accessories. Because this is a neutral look, you can see that I played with patterns and textures to vamp up this look. A sleek pony with pink lips finishes the look.

Suit It Up

Not feeling the dress this year? No problem, a little black suit does the trick. Take that nine to five suit and give it a spin by replacing your white button up with a sequin bandeau top. What makes this masculine look so sexy is showing the right amount of skin in the right places. Your neck, shoulders and midriff are the stars tonight. Finish this look with a centre part sleek back bun and deep red lips.

7 Boot Style Every Woman Should Own

So Fall is just around the corner – womp, I know! Like it or not, it’s just about that time to start thinking about layering and bundling up. I’m personally not a fan of the colder weather – I’m a summer girl at heart. So with summer almost coming to an end, it can be a bit depressing for me. But that’s another story- or blogpost. I’m still trying to master the skill of layering – a littler secret, I really don’t layer that much when the temperature drops. I just throw on my coat and go! My thinking is as long as my legs, ears and hands are covered and my coat is on I’ll be okay. I mean, I never dress planning on staying out in the cold for long anyways. For me boots are one of my favourite pieces to wear in Fall/Winter to show off my style. The styles are endless and you can easily work them in your hectic schedule from day to night. To help you out in the boot department, I’ve done my research and found seven boot styles every woman should own. Okay maybe not all seven, but you get what I’m saying.

These boots are perfect for casual weekend wear. Wear them with some jeggings paired with a biker jacket in the Fall/Winter or for a more festival look pair them with a dress in the summer.

Vince Camuto Hasia Suede Ankle Boots ($44.70)

My favourite look to rock these boots with is over leather pants, a white boyfriend tee and a leather jacket.

Enzo Angiolini Semia Leather Moto Boots ($64.98)

Rain boots have become super chic and stylish these days. They look best over skinny pants, but can also be pulled off with a dress or skirt for us commuters.

Dirty Laundry Riff Raff Knee High Rainboot ($50.00)

This style may just be the most classic of them all. If you have no idea on what kind of boots to buy, your safe bet is to go with a Chelsea. It suits everyone!

Top shop Month Chelsea Boots ($90.00)

This style will probably cost you the most. Call this an investment boot and one you want to take good care of so that it lasts you for a number of years.

Tory Burch Marlene Riding Boots ($495.00)

The open-toe boot is a great fashion forward item. It adds that extra flare to your outfit and can take an outfit from day to night in a second.

Steve Madden Nextstar Boots ($96.94)

This style is usually worn for a more dressy occasion. It looks great over tights in the winter with a mini skirt.

Adrianna Papell Natasha Stiletto Ankle Boots ($94.48)
